Shares Of Twitter Moving Higher Despite Worldwide Outage Reports

Shares of Twitter Inc TWTR were trading higher by more than 1 percent early Tuesday morning despite a worldwide outage that is affecting millions of users. According to Wired, an outage began at 8:20AM GMT and affected mobile and desktop versions of Twitter. With 1 hour remaining prior to Tuesday's opening bell, Twitter's service remained down for many users. An update on Twitter's Status page indicated "Some users are currently experiencing problems accessing Twitter." The following error message was presented to many Twitter users in Canada: "Something is technically wrong. Thanks for noticing -- we're going to fix it up and have things back to normal soon." Update: Service Being Restored The New York Times reported that users around the world are beginning to regain access to the social media platform. By 8:40AM ET, Twitter users in Canada were reporting that the media platform is operating normally. The New York Times noted that Twitter did not acknowledge how many users were affected or what caused the disruption in the first place.
