SpartanNash Co SPTN, the fifth largest US-based food distributor and leading distributor to US military commissaries and exchanges, announced on Tuesday a new long-term contract. SpartanNash will begin distributing its private label brand to Gordy's Market in mid-February and will act as Gordy's Market's primary distributor by May. "Gordy's is a perfect fit for our distribution operations," Dennis Edison, SpartanNash' CEO said in the press release. We see this agreement as a win:win for both parties." Shares of SpartanNash have lost more than 17 percent over the past year and are also lower by more than 33 percent over the past six months.
