WellCare of Iowa Signs Agreement With University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics

WellCare of Iowa, a subsidiary of WellCare Health Plans, Inc. WCG, and the University of Iowa (UI) Hospitals and Clinics announced today that they have signed an agreement that gives WellCare of Iowa's Medicaid members in-network coverage through the UI Health Care Network. This agreement includes access to both UI Hospitals and Clinics, and UI Children's Hospital. UI Hospitals and Clinics, and UI Children's Hospital together deliver quality care in collaboration with University of Iowa Physicians, the state's largest multi-specialty medical and surgical group practice composed of faculty physicians of the UI Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine. These partners work together as UI Heath Care to provide patient care, conduct biomedical research and train the next generation of health professionals. "This agreement with UI Health Hospitals and Clinics further supports in-network coverage for our members in Iowa," said Lauralie Rubel, president, WellCare of Iowa.
