US Stock Futures Surge Ahead Of Jobless Claims Data

US stock futures traded higher in early pre-market trade. Data on weekly jobless claims and non-farm productivity for the third quarter will be released at 10:00 a.m. ET. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average surged 52.5 points to 17,839.5, while the Standard & Poor's 500 index futures rose 6.50 points to 2,101.25. Futures for the Nasdaq 100 index climbed 13.25 points to 4,722.75.

European markets were mostly higher today, with the Spanish Ibex Index rising 0.36 percent, STOXX Europe 600 Index surging 0.18 percent and German DAX 30 index climbing 0.85 percent. French CAC 40 Index surged 0.96 percent and London's FTSE 100 Index fell 0.54 percent. In Asian markets, Japan's Nikkei Stock jumped 1 percent, Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index fell 0.01 percent, China's Shanghai Composite Index surged 1.835 percent and India's BSE Sensex declined 0.94 percent.

Analysts at Susquehanna downgraded

from Positive to Neutral and lowered the price target from $27.00 to $16.00. SodaStream shares climbed 5.33 percent to close at $16.61 yesterday.
