The Dow climbed 2.21 percent to 16,222.77, while the NASDAQ composite index climbed 3.16 percent to 4,669.32. The broader Standard & Poor's 500 index climbed 2.44 percent to 1,939.47. The worst performing industries in the market today are: Silver: This industry fell 3 percent by 11:00 am ET. MAG Silver Corp (USA) MVG shares dropped 5.2 percent in today's trading. Silver futures fell 0.90 percent to $14.67 an ounce. Farm & Construction Machinery: The industry dropped 1.5 percent by 11:00 am. The worst performer in this industry was Columbus McKinnon Corp. CMCO, which declined 1.2 percent. Columbus McKinnon shares have dropped 26.59 percent over the past 52 weeks, while the S&P 500 index has slipped 5.34 percent in the same period. Gold: This industry tumbled 1.4 percent by 11:00 am. The worst stock within the industry was Yamana Gold Inc. (USA) AUY, which fell 6.8 percent. Gold futures dropped 1.60 percent to $1,135.20 an ounce. Synthetics: This industry declined 0.9 percent by 11:00 am with Axiall Corp AXLL moving down 1.6 percent. Axiall's PEG ratio is 5.62.
