Worst Performing Industries For August 12, 2015


The Dow fell 1.42 percent to 17,155.81, while the NASDAQ composite index declined 1.65 percent to 4,953.84. The broader Standard & Poor's 500 index slipped 1.35 percent to 2,055.91.

The worst performing industries in the market today are:

Photographic Equipment & Supplies: This industry declined 7.2 percent by 11:00 am with GoPro Inc (NASDAQ: GPRO) moving down 8 percent. GoPro shares have jumped 54.83 percent over the past 52 weeks, while the S&P 500 index has gained 7.06 percent in the same period.

Long Distance Carriers: The industry dropped 3 percent by 11:00 am. The worst performer in this industry was HC2 Holdings Inc (NYSE: HCHC), which declined 6 percent. HC2 Holdings' trailing-twelve-month ROE is -13.15 percent.

Technical Services: This industry tumbled 2.9 percent by 11:00 am. The worst stock within the industry was Aecom (NYSE: ACM), which fell 8 percent. Aecom reported downbeat results for its fiscal third quarter on Tuesday.

Regional Airlines: This industry fell 2.7 percent by 11:00 am ET. Allegiant Travel Company (NASDAQ: ALGT) shares dropped 4.6 percent in today's trading.
