US Stock Futures Edge Lower Ahead Of Economic Data

Pre-open movers US stock futures traded slightly lower in early pre-market trade. Data on durable goods orders for April will be released at 8:30 a.m. ET. The FHFA house price index for March and the S&P/Case-Shiller home price index for March will be released at 9:00 a.m. ET. The Flash Services PMI for May will be released at 9:45 a.m. ET. Data on new home sales for April, the consumer confidence index for May and the Richmond Fed manufacturing index for May will be released at 10:00 a.m. ET. The Dallas Fed manufacturing index for May will be released at 10:30 a.m. ET. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 12.50 points to 18,211.50, while the Standard & Poor's 500 index futures slipped 3.55 points to 2,120.95. Futures for the Nasdaq 100 index fell 7.85 points to 4,520.90. A Peek Into Global Markets European markets were mixed today, with the Spanish Ibex Index falling 0.14 percent, STOXX Europe 600 Index gaining 0.15 percent and German DAX 30 index dropping 0.47 percent. French CAC 40 Index gained 0.28 percent and London's FTSE 100 Index fell 0.28 percent. In Asian markets, Japan's Nikkei Stock Average rose 0.12 percent, China's Shanghai Composite Index climbed 2.02 percent, Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index climbed 0.92 percent and India's BSE Sensex fell 0.41 percent. Broker Recommendation Analysts at Piper Jaffray downgraded Childrens Place Inc PLCE from Overweight to Neutral and lowered the price target from $76.00 to $72.00.
