Worst Performing Industries For May 11, 2015


The Dow dropped 0.17 percent to 18,161.02, while the NASDAQ composite index slipped 0.02 percent to 5,002.36. The broader Standard & Poor's 500 index fell 0.12 percent to 2,113.60.

The worst performing industries in the market today are:

Photographic Equipment & Supplies: The industry dropped 2.7 percent by 11:00 am. The worst performer in this industry was Ballantyne Strong Inc (NYSE: BTN), which declined 5 percent. Ballantyne reported a Q1 adjusted loss of $0.01 per share.

Synthetics: This industry tumbled 1.6 percent by 11:00 am. The worst stock within the industry was Axiall Corp (NYSE: AXLL), which fell 2.8 percent. Axiall's PEG ratio is 3.70.

Nonmetallic Mineral Mining: This industry fell 1.2 percent by 11:00 am ET. Hallador Energy Co (NASDAQ: HNRG) shares dropped 4 percent in today's trading. Hallador Energy is expected to discuss Q1 results on Tuesday, May 12th.

Foreign Regional Banks: This industry declined 1.2 percent by 11:00 am with Banco Bradesco S.A. (NYSE: BBDO) moving down 3.6 percent. Banco Bradesco shares have dropped 36.96 percent over the past 52 weeks, while the S&P 500 index has gained 11.57 percent in the same period.
