Worst Performing Industries For May 6, 2015


The Dow slipped 0.16 percent to 17,899.67, while the NASDAQ composite index dropped 0.07 percent to 4,935.89. The broader Standard & Poor's 500 index fell 0.09 percent to 2,087.62.

The worst performing industries in the market today are:

Silver: The industry dropped 2.6 percent by 11:00 am. The worst performer in this industry was Endeavour Silver Corp (NYSE: EXK), which declined 3.1 percent. Endeavour Silver reported Q1 net earnings of $1.4 million, or $0.01 per share, on revenue of $51.1 million.

Building Materials Wholesale: This industry tumbled 2.5 percent by 11:00 am. The worst stock within the industry was Louisiana-Pacific Corporation (NYSE: LPX), which fell 2.7 percent. DA Davidson downgraded Louisiana-Pacific from Neutral to Underperform.

Internet Service Providers: This industry fell 2.2 percent by 11:00 am ET. Spark Networks Inc (NYSE: LOV) shares dropped 1 percent in today's trading. Spark Networks is expected to report its Q1 earnings after the closing bell.

Synthetics: This industry declined 1.4 percent by 11:00 am with Axiall Corp (NYSE: AXLL) moving down 9.2 percent. Axiall reported downbeat Q1 results.
