Worst Performing Industries For April 6, 2015

The Dow climbed 0.53% to 17,857.37, while the NASDAQ composite index rose 0.43% to 4,908.01. The broader Standard & Poor's 500 index surged 0.55% to 2,078.38.

The worst performing industries in the market today are:

Internet Information Providers: This industry fell 1.4% by 11:00 am ET. TripAdvisor Inc. (NASDAQ: TRIP) shares dropped 0.8% in today's trading. Analysts at Needham downgraded TripAdvisor from Buy to Hold.

Toy & Hobby Stores: The industry dropped 1.3% by 11:00 am. The worst performer in this industry was Build-A-Bear Workshop Inc. (NYSE: BBW), which declined 1.3%. Build-A-Bear's trailing-twelve-month profit margin is 3.66%.

Regional Airlines: This industry declined 1.2% by 11:00 am with Southwest Airlines Co. (NYSE: LUV) moving down 2.5%. Southwest Airlines shares have jumped 80.01% over the past 52 weeks, while the S&P 500 index has gained 10.82% in the same period.

Regional - Northeast Banks: This industry tumbled 1.1% by 11:00 am. The worst stock within the industry was M&T Bank Corporation (NYSE: MTB), which fell 2.8%. Hudson City Bancorp (NASDAQ: HCBK) reported that it has been advised of further regulatory delay on M&T Bank merger.
