Worst Performing Industries For March 6, 2015


The Dow dropped 0.50% to 18,044.50, while the NASDAQ composite index fell 0.08% to 4,978.93. The broader Standard & Poor's 500 index slipped 0.39% to 2,092.92.

The worst performing industries in the market today are:

Silver: This industry tumbled 2.6% by 11:00 am. The worst stock within the industry was Coeur Mining, Inc. (NYSE: CDE), which fell 6.4%. Silver futures dropped 2.1% to trade at $15.82 an ounce.

Gold: This industry fell 2% by 11:00 am ET. Harmony Gold Mining Company Limited (NYSE: HMY) shares dropped 8.6% in today's trading. Gold futures fell 1.83% to trade at $1,174.30 an ounce.

Foreign Utilities: This industry declined 1.9% by 11:00 am with CPFL Energia S.A. (NYSE: CPL) moving down 2.5%. CPFL Energia's PEG ratio is 5.51.

REIT - Healthcare Facilities: The industry dropped 1.8% by 11:00 am. The worst performer in this industry was Omega Healthcare Investors Inc. (NYSE: OHI), which declined 4.5%. Omega Healthcare Investors' board declared a prorated dividend of $0.36 per share in connection with the acquisition of Aviv REIT, Inc.
