A General Dynamics-led team has
been awarded the Live Training Transformation (LT2) Consolidated Product-line
Management (CPM) Next contract by the U.S. Army. The General Dynamics team was
awarded the original CPM program contract in 2009 by the Program Executive
Office for Simulation, Training and Instrumentation (PEO STRI) Program Manager
for Training Devices (PM TRADE). With this award, the General Dynamics team
will continue managing the Army's LT2 live training systems that include
nearly 300 training ranges worldwide, with training that scales from
individual soldiers to brigades participating in live force-on-force and
force-on-target training. The CPM Next award is a five-year, indefinite
delivery, indefinite quantity contract with a total potential value of $415
million.
Chris Marzilli, president of General Dynamics Mission Systems, said, "Over the
past five years, General Dynamics has delivered exceptionally well on our
promise to the Army, helping them to save hundreds of millions of dollars in
training system sustainment and maintenance costs. The savings created an
opportunity to fund investments in evolving and creating new capabilities
across the Army's global training enterprise."
The LT2 CPM Next contract will help the Army continue to reduce the costs and
complexity associated with maintaining its diverse portfolio of training
systems. The team will also rapidly integrate new training capabilities,
directly supporting a soldier's ability to be ready for operations in today's
complex mission environment. A provision in the contract encourages other U.S.
Department of Defense organizations and U.S. Department of Homeland Security
agencies to participate in the LT2 Product Line to create and manage their
training products for cost-savings and overall training efficiencies.
General Dynamics is the prime contractor for LT2 CPM Next program. Team
members include Assured Information Technology Engineering (Orlando, Fla.);
Alion Science and Technology (Orlando, Fla.); Applied Research Associates,
Inc. (Orlando, Fla.); Big Lever Software Inc. (Austin, Tex.); Carley
Corporation (Orlando, Fla.); General Dynamics Information Technology (Orlando,
Fla.); Leidos (Orlando, Fla.); Madcap Software (San Diego); nFocus Solutions
(Phoenix, Ariz.); Phoenix Logistics, Inc. (Tempe, Ariz.); Productivity APEX
Inc. (Orlando, Fla.); Raytheon (Orlando, Fla.); and Riptide Software, Inc.
