BlackBerry Says Its Cryptography Technology Is On 400 Million Devices

BlackBerry Ltd BBRY executive Sandeep Chennakeshu commented at CES 2015 that its Certicom cryptography technology is on 400 million devices.

According to Certicom’s website, it is a wholly owned subsidiary of BlackBerry and “protects billions of dollars worth of content and millions of devices around the world. With over 350 patents and patents pending worldwide covering key aspects of Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC), Certicom provides the core technology for the National Security Agency (NSA) Suite B standard for secure government communications.”

BlackBerry recently traded at $10.70, up 0.76 percent.
