reported on Monday U.S. December sales rose 20 percent from a year ago, as the company sold 193,261 total vehicles. December's sales data marked the company's best December in a decade and marks the 57th consecutive month of year over year sales gains. However, the company's sales gain fell short of the 23 percent growth analysts were expecting. "Our best December sales in a decade pushed our full-year sales over the 2-million unit threshold for our best annual sales since 2006. Last year marked our fifth-consecutive year of annual sales growth in the U.S., and once again, we were the fastest-growing automaker in the country," said Reid Bigland, Head of U.S. Sales. Sales of Jeep vehicles rose 19 percent from a year ago to 63,274 units, Ram sales rose 35 percent to 48,628 units, Dodge sales dipped two percent to 46,578 units, Chrysler sales rose 53 percent to 30,930 units while Fiat sales rose one percent to 3,784 units.
