The Dow dropped 0.86% to 17,648.17, while the NASDAQ composite index fell 0.51% to 4,742.14. The broader Standard & Poor's 500 index slipped 0.75% to 2,044.44.

Wholesale, Other:

The industry dropped 2.76% by 12:00 pm. The worst performer in this industry was United Stationers (NASDAQ: USTR), which declined 2.7%. United Stationers' trailing-twelve-month profit margin is 2.44%.

Building Materials Wholesale:

This industry fell 2.73% by 12:00 pm ET. Huttig Building Products (NASDAQ: HBP) shares dropped 6.5% in today's trading. Huttig Building Products shares have dropped 5.34% over the past 52 weeks, while the S&P 500 index has gained 15.58% in the same period.

Synthetics:

This industry tumbled 2.28% by 12:00 pm. The worst stock within the industry was Axiall (NASDAQ: AXLL), which fell 3.7%. Axiall's PEG ratio is 5.90.

Oil & Gas Pipelines:

This industry declined 2.20% by 12:00 pm with Atlas Pipeline Partners, L.P. (NYSE: APL) moving down 9%. Crude oil futures fell 4.72% to trade at $60.81 a barrel.
