Gol Linhas Aéreas Inteligentes SA (NYSE: GOL) rose 8.02% to $5.66. Amyris (NASDAQ: AMRS) has partnered with GOL to begin the first commercial route with farnesane.

Lexicon Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ: LXRX) surged 7.64% to $1.69. Lexicon and JDRF have collaborated for Phase 2 clinical trial of LX4211 in Type 1 Diabetes.

Camtek (NASDAQ: CAMT) surged 7.26% to $4.43 after dropping 17.73% on Tuesday.

AeroVironment (NASDAQ: AVAV) gained 6.33% to $32.92 after the company reported upbeat fiscal fourth-quarter results. AeroVironment reported its quarterly earnings of $0.35 per share on revenue of $73.5 million.

Zhone Technologies (NASDAQ: ZHNE) rose 5.19% to $3.04. Zhone Technologies has partnered with Fujitsu Network Communications in the development of a Fiber Optic Network for Kit Carson Electric Cooperative.

Alcoa (NYSE: AA) rose 2.56% to $15.23 after the company reported stronger-than-expected fiscal second-quarter results. Alcoa posted its adjusted earnings of $0.18 per share on revenue of $5.85 billion. However, analysts were projecting earnings of $0.12 per share on revenue of $5.63 billion.
