US Stock Futures Gain Ahead Of Manufacturing PMI, Auto Sales

Pre-open movers US stock futures traded higher in early pre-market trade, ahead of economic data. Data on motor vehicle sales for June will be released today. The Markit PMI manufacturing index (final) for June will be released at 9:45 a.m. ET, while the ISM manufacturing composite index for June and construction spending data for May will be released at 10:00 a.m. ET. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average surged 41 points to 16,781.00, while the Standard & Poor's 500 index futures rose 4.60 points to 1,957.00. Futures for the Nasdaq 100 index climbed 11.50 points to 3,852.00. A Peek Into Global Markets European markets were higher today, with the Spanish Ibex Index gaining 0.38%, STOXX Europe 600 Index surging 0.51%. German DAX 30 index rose 0.31%, French CAC 40 Index surged 0.63% and London's FTSE 100 Index gained 0.53%. In Asian markets, Japan's Nikkei Stock Average rose 1.08%, China's Shanghai Composite Index surged 0.10% and India's BSE Sensex rose 0.40%. China's official manufacturing PMI surged to 51 in June, versus 50.8 in May, while the final reading of HSBC's manufacturing PMI rose to 50.7 in June, versus a final reading of 49.4 in May.
