Informatica Corporation (Nasdaq: INFA), the world's number one independent provider of data integration software, today announced Informatica PowerExchange, an enterprise-class data integration connector for Amazon Redshift from Amazon Web Services (AWS). Using the new connector, Informatica PowerCenter customers can more easily and quickly expand their data warehouse environments to include, or even completely migrate to, Amazon Redshift, a fully managed, petabyte-scale cloud data warehouse service in the cloud.

"Informatica PowerCenter is the data integration foundation of many of the world's largest data warehouse environments," said Ash Kulkarni, senior vice president and general manager, Data Integration, Informatica. "As more enterprises look to extend their data warehousing capabilities in the cloud, we are excited to empower customers to easily leverage Amazon Redshift, an industry-leading cloud data warehouse solution."

Amazon Redshift is a fast, fully-managed, petabyte-scale data warehouse in the cloud that offers excellent economics, scalability and query performance.

Informatica PowerExchange provides simple-to-use connectivity to Amazon Redshift, giving customers the ability to quickly integrate any PowerCenter-supported data source to Amazon Redshift. The new connector is also fully compatible with existing PowerCenter data integration mappings, thus extending the value of customers' data integration investments.

"Informatica PowerCenter's new connector for Amazon Redshift gives us the ability to use Informatica's data integration, data quality and master data management capabilities, all on the AWS cloud," said Ed Patterson, big data cloud solutions architect, Capgemini. "This allows us to offer our customers compelling end-to-end solutions that meet their most complex petabyte-scale analytics processing needs and combines the depth of Informatica's capabilities with the cost savings, global reach and reliability of the AWS cloud."

Informatica PowerExchange for Amazon Redshift is designed to support data integration best practices and to provide enterprise-level security, performance and scalability.

"With this release of Informatica's PowerCenter connector for Amazon Redshift, customers can leverage the power of Informatica's data integration solution to connect on-premise, cloud and hybrid data sources to Amazon Redshift for implementing cost effective and scalable big data initiatives," said Terry Wise, Director of Worldwide Partner Ecosystem, Amazon Web Services, Inc.

Additionally, Informatica PowerExchange for Amazon Redshift is powered by Informatica Vibe, the world's first and only embeddable virtual data machine (VDM). This enables the new connector to seamlessly support hybrid data integration scenarios across Informatica PowerCenter and Informatica Cloud deployments.

With today's Informatica Power Exchange for Amazon Redshift announcement, in conjunction with the 2013 release of the Informatica Cloud Connector for Amazon Redshift, Informatica customers can now use existing, standards-based integrations, across their Informatica PowerCenter and Informatica Cloud Platform deployments, to seamlessly connect existing cloud and on-premise applications and data sources to Amazon Redshift.
