European Stocks Rise After Manufacturing PMI
European stocks gained Tuesday after the steady manufacturing purchasing managers index.
Spanish Ibex Index surged 0.53%, London's FTSE 100 index gained 0.44% and STOXX Europe 600 Index jumped 0.36%. German DAX 30 index climbed 0.42% and French CAC 40 Index rose 0.59%.
The euro-zone manufacturing purchasing managers index declined in March. Markit said its final manufacturing PMI slipped to 53.0 in March, unchanged versus a prior estimate, and down from 53.2 in February.
France's PMI for the sector rose to 52.1, versus 49.7 in February. Germany PMI fell to 53.7 from 54.8 in February, while Greek PMI dropped below 50.00 in the month.
