Facebook Status Updates Go Down In Unexpected Outage (FB)
UPDATE: Facebook appears to be coming back online; some users are reporting that they are able to post status updates again.

Google (NASDAQ: GOOG) outages are commonplace, but it's not everyday that consumers are hampered by an inability to post status updates.
In a nutshell, this means that one billion people cannot post status updates to their timeline.
Twitter, the world's second-largest social network, is overwhelmed with tweets on the issue:
