SmartMetric, Inc.
-- Speaking this morning, the President and CEO of
SmartMetric, Inc., Ms. Chaya Hendrick said, SmartMetric wishes to
inform shareholders and the general public that the Judge hearing
SmartMetric's Patent Infringement lawsuit denied the motion put
forward by the defendants to have SmartMetric's expert witness and
his expert report excluded from the SmartMetric vs Visa and
MasterCard trial.
Speaking today about the progress of the case being heard in the
United States District Court, Central District of California, Western
Division, Ms. Chaya Hendrick said the company is very pleased with
the way the trial is progressing and welcomes its day in Court before
the Judge and the 12 member Jury set for September 9th 2013. She
further said that while SmartMetric is up against arguably the two
single largest financial institutions in the world it is gratifying to see that Justice is truly blind and in our case is showing no fear
or favor based on the disparity of size of the litigants. When it
comes to standing before a Judge and Jury to argue the merits of its
case it is clear that the Court system truly does afford inventors
who present a case of infringement in order to protect their
intellectual property rights, an avenue of protection from even
market dominant giants, she said.
SmartMetric has presented the Defendants with its claim for damages
and is in the process of hearing discovery against Visa and
MasterCard. The amount of the damages being claimed by SmartMetric
will be announced to shareholders and the general public upon
presentation of same before the Court, Ms. Chaya Hendrick said.
