A Peek Into The Market Before The Trading Starts

Pre-open movers US stock futures are higher this morning, as investors are awaiting economic data. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average surged 19 points to 14,417.00 and S&P 500 index futures rose 2 points to 1,552.00. Nasdaq 100 futures gained 4.75 points to 2,798.25. A Peek Into Global Markets European markets were higher today. The STOXX Europe 600 Index rose 0.46%, London's FTSE 100 Index gained 0.23%, French CAC 40 Index rose 0.52% and German DAX 30 index surged 0.54%. Asian markets ended mostly higher, with Japan's Nikkei Stock Average gaining 1.16%, China's Shanghai Composite rising 0.28% and Australia's S&P/ASX 200 dropping 0.47%. Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index climbed 0.28% and India's Sensex jumped 1.07%. Broker Recommendation Analysts at RBC Capital upgraded VMware VMW from “sector perform” to “outperform.” The target price for VMware has been raised from $90 to $110.
