Computer manufacturer Dell DELL will be taken private at $13.65 per share. Chairman, CEO and founder Michael Dell has partnered with private equity firm Silver Lake to to take the company private. Microsoft MSFT will chip in $2 billion to complete the deal as a loan.
Shares of Dell have been beaten down over the last year as the demand for PCs has plummeted: Consumers have increasingly opted for tablets over standard PCs.
Traders should keep their eyes on shares of Hewlett-Packard HPQ. Like Dell, the company is a major PC manufacturer.
