Stocks Slip To A Flat Finish As Ford Warns, Congress Dodders (Investor's Business Daily)

Pre-open movers US stock futures are mostly flat this morning. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 1 point to 13,695.00 and S&P 500 index futures fell 1.50 points to 1,487.90. Nasdaq 100 futures surged 3 points to 2,754.00.

A Peek Into Global Markets European markets were mixed today. The STOXX Europe 600 Index fell 0.09%, London's FTSE 100 Index gained 0.11%, German DAX 30 Index rose 0.20% and French CAC 40 Index fell 0.32%.

Asian markets ended mostly higher, with Japan's Nikkei Stock Average falling 2.08%, China's Shanghai Composite rising 0.25% and Australia's S&P/ASX 200 Index climbing 0.19%. Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index dropped 0.10% and India's Sensex rose 0.23%.

Broker Recommendation Analysts at Canaccord upgraded Verizon Communications (NYSE: VZ) from “hold” to “buy.” The target price for Verizon has been raised from $47 to $50.

Verizon shares rose 0.26% to $43.05 in pre-market trading.
