US Stock Futures Flat Ahead Of McDonald's Earnings

US stock futures are mostly flat this morning, as investors are awaiting earnings from McDonald's MCD. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 2 points to 13,694.00 and S&P 500 index futures fell 1.40 points to 1,488.00. Nasdaq 100 futures surged 2.50 points to 2,753.50. US stocks closed higher on Tuesday, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average gaining 0.46% to 13,712.21, the S&P 500 index rising 0.44% to 1,492.56 and the Nasdaq 100 index climbing 0.27% to 3,143.18. The MBA purchase applications index will be released at 7:00 a.m. ET. The Federal Housing Finance Agency House Price Index for November will also be released today. McDonald's is expected to report its Q4 earnings at $1.33 per share on revenue of $6.89 billion. United Technologies UTX is projected to report its Q4 EPS at $1.03 on revenue of $16.62 billion. Western Digital WDC is projected to post its Q2 EPS at $1.82 on revenue of $3.68 billion. Coach COH is expected to report its Q2 earnings at $1.29 per share on revenue of $1.60 billion. Abbott Laboratories ABT is expected to report its Q4 earnings at $1.50 per share on revenue of $10.58 billion. Apple AAPL is estimated to post its Q1 earnings at $13.42 per share on revenue of $54.69 billion. Baker Hughes BHI is projected to report its Q4 earnings at $0.61 per share on revenue of $5.20 billion. Netflix NFLX is expected to post a Q4 loss at $0.60 per share on revenue of $934.37 million. Noble NE is estimated to post its Q4 EPS at $0.62 on revenue of $962.09 million. SanDisk SNDK is projected to post its Q4 earnings at $0.75 per share on revenue of $1.52 billion. Motorola Solutions MSI is estimated to report its Q4 earnings at $1.02 per share on revenue of $2.45 billion. Google GOOG reported upbeat fourth-quarter earnings. International Business Machines IBM reported better-than-expected fourth-quarter earnings. European markets were mostly higher today. The STOXX Europe 600 Index rose 0.04%, London's FTSE 100 Index gained 0.18%, German DAX 30 Index rose 0.29% and French CAC 40 Index fell 0.08%. Asian markets ended mostly higher, with Japan's Nikkei Stock Average falling 2.08%, China's Shanghai Composite rising 0.25% and Australia's S&P/ASX 200 Index climbing 0.19%. Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index dropped 0.10% and India's Sensex rose 0.23%. The ICE dollar index (DXY) dropped 0.11% to trade at 79.78, versus 79.892 on Tuesday. The dollar declined 0.48% against the Japanese yen to trade at ¥88.28, versus ¥88.74. The euro gained 0.05% versus the dollar to trade at $1.3329, up from $1.3311.
