Australia Jobless Rate Rises To 5.4% In December

Australia's jobless rate climbed to 5.4% in December, according to the Australian Bureau of Statistics. Australia's jobless rate reached 5.3% in November. However, economists were expecting rate to reach 5.4% in the month of December. The number of employed in Australia declined 5,500 to 11.5 million. However, the number of unemployed climbed 16,600 to 656,400 in the month.
