US Stock Futures Flat Ahead Of Jobs Data

US stock futures are mostly flat this morning, as investors are awaiting jobs data. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 4 points to 13,315.00 and S&P 500 index futures rose 0.30 points to 1,454.00. Nasdaq 100 futures gained 2.75 points to 2,728.25. US stocks closed lower on Thursday, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropping 0.16% to 13,391.36, the S&P 500 index falling 0.21% to 1,459.37 and the Nasdaq 100 index declining 0.38% to 3,100.57. The Labor Department is scheduled to release December jobs report at 8:30 a.m. ET. The ISM non-manufacturing composite index for December and factory orders data for November will be released at 10 a.m. Finish Line FINL is estimated to report its Q3 earnings at $0.10 per share on revenue of $296.09 million. The Mosaic Company MOS is projected to report its Q2 earnings at $0.98 per share. Sonic SONC reported a 12% rise in its fiscal first-quarter profit. Coinstar CSTR announced the retirement of its CEO Paul Davis. Progress Software PRGS reported its Q4 earnings at $36 million, or $0.57 per share, on revenue of $91.3 million. European markets were lower today. The STOXX Europe 600 Index fell 0.30%, London's FTSE 100 Index dropped 0.08%, German DAX 30 Index declined 0.27% and French CAC 40 Index fell 0.48%. Asian markets ended mixed, with Japan's Nikkei Stock Average rising 2.82%, China's Shanghai Composite gaining 0.35% and Australia's S&P/ASX 200 Index dropping 0.39%. Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index fell 0.29% and India's Sensex rose 0.10%. Nymex crude-oil futures dropped $1.25 to $92.09 a barrel in electronic trade, while gold futures fell $43.40 to $1,631.20 an ounce. The dollar index (DXY) gained 0.38% to trade at 80.81.
