Top Narrow Based Indexes For January 2, 2013

By 11:58 am, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 224.08 points, or 1.71%, to 13,328.22, while the broader Standard & Poor's 500 index had gained 23.77 points, or 1.67%. The NASDAQ composite index rose 68.11 points, or 2.26%. Some of the narrow based indexes that are driving the markets are Optical Networking Stocks, which have gained 69%, Rare Earth Stocks, up 7.8%, and Chinese Auto Parts Stocks, moving 6.6% higher as a group. In Tickerspy's Optical Networking complex, Oclaro OCLR had surged 11.1%. Oclaro's trailing-twelve-month revenue is $428.45 million. The best performing Tickerspy Rare Earth stock has been Molycorp MCP, which was up 16.5%. Molycorp shares have dropped 62.42% over the past 52 weeks, while the S&P 500 index has gained 11.68% in the same period. SORL Auto Parts SORL is today's leading Tickerspy's Chinese Auto Parts stock, gaining 10.2%. SORL's PEG ratio is 0.77.
