Ducommun Incorporated DCO today announced that it has received a
contract from The Boeing Company BA to produce titanium detail
components and subassemblies for the Boeing 787 Dreamliner. Under the terms of
the contract, production on the titanium assemblies will continue at the
Ducommun AeroStructures facility in Coxsackie, N.Y.
The 787 Dreamliner is a mid-size, twin-engine jet airliner with various
configurations that can carry up to 290 passengers on routes of 8,000 to 8,500
nautical miles, all while using 20 percent less fuel than today's similarly
sized airplanes.
