Pre-open movers
US stock futures are higher this morning, as investors are awaiting ADP employment data. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average surged 49 points to 12,981.00 and S&P 500 index futures rose 4 points to 1,409.50. Nasdaq 100 futures gained 5 points to 2,669.50.
A Peek Into Global Markets
European markets were higher today. The STOXX Europe 600 Index rose 0.15%, London's FTSE 100 Index gained 0.21%, French CAC 40 Index surged 0.21% and German DAX 30 index rose 0.26%.
Asian markets ended higher, with Japan's Nikkei Stock Average rising 0.39%, China's Shanghai Composite gaining 2.87% and Australia's S&P/ASX 200 rising 0.36%. Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index rose 2.16% and India's Sensex climbed 0.23%.
Broker Recommendation
Analysts at Citigroup downgraded ADTRAN ADTN from “neutral” to “sell.” The target price for ADTRAN has been lowered from $17 to $12.50.
ADTRAN shares gained 0.66% to close at $19.81 yesterday.
