Benzinga Market Update
Hurricane Sandy Hurricane Sandy hit the East coast hard Monday, managing to knock out power to many coastal cities, wash away boardwalks, and cause massive flooding. The storm lead to the closure of US financial markets Tuesday, but it was announced that trading would resume Wednesday at 9:30 am as normal.
Commodities In commodity news, oil traded up 0.17 percent to $86.76, while gold traded up 0.08 percent to $1,710.10.
Silver traded up 0.06 percent Tuesday to $31.81.
Euro Zone In the Eurozone was relatively quiet this morning, with markets trading up roughly one percent across the board. In Athens, the Greek government announced a delay on its austerity vote for another week, warning that there would be financial chaos if a deal was not reached.
Economics There were no economic reports as data was delayed due to hurricane Sandy.
