USG and GE Lighting Collaborate to Offer Monolithic, Sustainable Integrated Ceiling and Lighting System

USG Corporation USG, a leading building products company, today announced a strategic collaboration with GE Lighting to offer an integrated new monolithic and sustainable ceiling system ideal for use in commercial applications such as office, healthcare, retail and hospitality environments. The collaboration brings together teams from both companies to offer a complementary ceiling and lighting design and technical application specification support and service. The innovative ceiling system combines USG's Logix™ Ceiling System with GE Lumination™ LED Linear Recessed Luminaires. USG's revolutionary Logix Integrated Ceiling Systems unite the finest aesthetics and performance by transforming the ceiling plane into a dramatic design element that provides the freedom to create elegant, modern and sophisticated ceilings that match vision without the constraints of traditional acoustical ceiling designs. Lumination™ LED Luminaires cut energy and maintenance costs, while providing flexibility and freedom to create imaginative environments. “The collaboration between USG and GE addresses the need of the architectural and design community for more monolithic high performance ceiling design options,” said Chris Griffin, USG executive vice president, operations. “We're proud to offer a ceiling system that can be designed with greater flexibility in the configurations, performance specifications, and aesthetic and size options of panels and grid, while also incorporating lighting and mechanical systems for a more customized and monolithic ceiling.” “We are pleased to form this collaboration with USG, which enables both companies to better serve the design community with a unique sales and marketing approach that combines our technical expertise in ceiling and lighting systems,” said Jaime Irick, GM, Lighting North America Professional Solutions. “The breakthrough of our integrated ceiling and lighting system offers uninterrupted channels of lighting and acoustical panels for a desired design aesthetic without compromising performance.”
