Cypress and Tokyo Electron Device Announce New Distribution Partnership in Japan

Cypress Semiconductor Corp. CY and Tokyo Electron Device Limited (TED) today announced an agreement whereby TED will become a distribution partner of Cypress. The agreement, effective October 8, 2012, includes the entire Cypress product line, including PSoC^® Programmable System-on-Chip devices, touch-sensing solutions, SRAMs, USB controllers, and more. TED has a unique business model of creating reference designs and providing specialized design services under its “inrevium” brand. This model has allowed TED to achieve outstanding success in the Japanese programmable device market as a distributor of FPGAs. The company has been responsible for wide proliferation of programmable devices in numerous segments, including industrial, medical, and energy. Earlier this year, TED and Cypress jointly developed a USB 3.0 device interface card under the inrevium brand.
