Benzinga Mid-Day Market Update
At the midday point on Monday, the Dow was down about 0.21 percent, or roughly 29.09 points. The NASDAQ also fell, down about 0.32 percent, or about 10.30 points. The S&P was dropping as well, trading down 0.17 percent, falling 2.55 points.
Onyx Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ: ONXX) rose Monday 4.41 percent to around $80.05, a 52-week high.
Jazz Pharmaceuticals(NASDAQ: JAZZ) also posted a rally early Monday, trading up 13.22 percent, around $54.48 following a favorable legal decision late Friday afternoon.
BioFuel Energy (NASDAQ: BIOF)rallied as well, up 13.96 percent, trading around $10.23 following new EPA rules on bio-diesel fuels.
Shares of Netflix (NASDAQ: NFLX) fell Monday, trading down 4.91 percent around $57.55 as investors continue to fear Apple's entry into the internet radio market.
The Empire State Manufacturing Index was released today and came in at -10.41, far below the estimated -2.00.
In tech news, shares of Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) continue their climb as they near the $700 dollar mark following an announcement by the company that it had sold 2 million iPhone 5's in the first day of its release. Shares of Apple traded up 1.07 percent around $698.67.
