Elliott Files Definitive Proxy Statement For BMC Software

Elliott Management, a $20 billion private investment firm, and its collective funds, holders of approximately 6.5 percent of the common stock of BMC Software BMC, today announced that it has filed definitive proxy materials with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in connection with the Company's upcoming 2012 Annual Meeting. In addition, Elliott sent BMC stockholders the following letter today seeking their support for its director nominees, who are committed to bringing new perspectives to the Company's Board of Directors and initiating a review of all alternatives to maximize value for stockholders:
