WebMD Health Corp. WBMD appointed a new CEO today. Cavan M. Redmond, formerly the President of Pfizer Inc. PFE, takes over as CEO effective yesterday and also joins the company's Board of Directors.
Mr. Redmond brings over 20 years of industry experience to WebMD, having worked in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, consumer healthcare and infant nutritionals. He is known as a global healthcare strategist with strengths in implementing complex strategies in highly competitive and regulated markets.
Mr. Redmond earned a Master of Administrative Science from Johns Hopkins and got his Bachelors degree at the university of Maryland. Anthony Vuolo, the interim-CEO, will return to his prior position as CFO.
WebMD is the leading provider of health information services, serving consumers, professionals, employers, and health plans through online and mobile platforms and various publications.
