US Stock Futures Down; Apple Shares Rise In Pre-Market Trading

US stock futures are lower this morning. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 16 points to 13,147.00 and S&P 500 index futures fell 2.70 points to 1,395.80. Nasdaq 100 futures declined 1.50 points to 2,707.50. US stocks closed mixed on Friday, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropping 0.15% to 13,232.62, the S&P 500 index rising 0.11% to 1,404.17 and the Nasdaq 100 index declining 0.04% to 3,055.26. New York Federal Reserve Bank President William C. Dudley will deliver a speech at 8:35 a.m. ETn. A gauge of March home-builder sentiment will be released at 10 a.m. ET. Focus Media Holding Ltd FMCN is projected to report its Q4 earnings at $0.63 per share on revenue of $226.9 million. Adobe Software Inc ADBE is projected to post its FQ1 EPS at $0.57 per share on revenue of $1.05 billion. Gordmans Stores Inc GMAN is estimated to report its Q4 earnings at $0.50 per share on revenue of $185.8 million. Talbots Inc (The) TLB is projected to post a Q4 loss at $0.56 per share on revenue of $268.74 million. Cache Inc CACH is projected to post its Q4 EPS at $0.18 on revenue of $62.2 million. InterOil Corporation IOC is expected to post its Q4 EPS at $0.02 on revenue of $817.15 million. Domino's Pizza Inc DPZ completed its recapitalization plan. The company's s board also approved a special dividend of $3 per share. Dunkin' Brands Group Inc DNKN announced its plans to sell 22 million shares in a secondary offering. Shares of Apple Inc AAPL gained about 2.9% in pre-market trading. The company on Sunday announced its plans to host a call with investors at 9 a.m. ET to discuss its $97.6 billion in cash, short-term equivalents and long-term investments. European markets were lower today. The STOXX Europe 600 Index declined 0.25%, London's FTSE 100 Index moved down 0.43%, French CAC 40 index fell 0.52% and German DAX 30 index dropped 0.47%. Asian markets ended mixed, with Japan's Nikkei Stock Average rising 0.12%, China's Shanghai Composite rising 0.23% and Australia's S&P/ASX 200 moving up 0.38%. Hong Kong's Hang Seng index dropped 0.95% and India's Sensex fell 1.15%. Nymex crude-oil futures dropped $0.31 to $106.75 a barrel in electronic trade. However, gold futures fell $0.70 to $1,655.10 an ounce. The dollar index (DXY) gained 0.05% to trade at 79.82. The US dollar fell 0.23% versus the Japanese yen to trade at 83.17 yen.
