Shares of Tudou Holdings Ltd TUDO surged about 152% after Youku Inc YOKU announced its plans to buy Tudou in a 100% stock-for-stock transaction. Upon completion of the transaction, the combined entity will be named Youku Tudou Inc. Shares of MOCON Inc MOCO rose about 3.1% after the company announced its plans to acquire PBI-Dansensor A/S (Dansensor) of Ringsted, Denmark. Dansensor recorded sales of around $19.3 million in 2011. Shares of Sasol Ltd SSL fell about 2.1% after the company reported an increase in its first half profit. Sasol's earnings attributable to shareholders for the period surged 83% to 13.9 billion rand, versus ZAR7.6 billion, in the year-ago period. Sasol's operating profit jumped to ZAR20.48 billion from ZAR12.02 billion. Sasol also declared an interim dividend of ZAR5.70 per share. Shares of Zoll Medical Corp ZOLL surged about 23.7% after Japan's Asahi Kasei Corp AHKSY agreed to acquire Zoll Medical in a deal valued at $2.21 billion. Asahi Kasei will buy Zoll Medical for $93 per share in a tender offer. The offer price represents a 24% premium to Zoll Medical's last closing share price. Shaes of Pacific Capital Bancorp PCBC surged about 57% after UnionBanCal Corp announced its plans to buy Pacific Capital for $46 per share in cash. The offer price represents a 60% premium over PCBC's closing price of $28.69 per share on Friday.
