Tesla Jumps 17% After Huge Friday Sell-Off

Shares of electronic car manufacturer Tesla TSLA jumped sharply higher at the open on Monday after falling 19% on Friday near the close of trading after reports hit the wires that both the company's chief engineer and director of chassis engineering for the Model S had left the company. An email from Tesla, however, suggests that the departure of chief engineer Peter Rawlinson was related to family matters in the UK and that the chassis engineer, Nick Sampson, had transitioned his duties before leaving the company. It appears as if investors are reconsidering the news, as TSLA shares have made up most of Friday's losses. The stock is trading up 17.55% to $26.79 on heavy volume around mid-day.
