Shares of Archer Daniels Midland Co (NYSE: ADM) rose about 0.1% after the company announced its plans to lower 1,000 jobs. Archer Daniels Midland will cut 3% of the company's work force, to reduce annual expenses by $100 million per year.
Shares of Crown Castle International Corp (NYSE: CCI) dropped about 1.2% after the company announced its plans to acquire a portfolio of ground lease-related assets from Wireless Capital Partners LLC for around $180 million in cash. Crown Castle will also assume around $320 million in debt.
Shares of PVH Corp (NYSE: PVH) dropped about 0.6% after the company lifted its earnings view for the fourth quarter by $0.05 per share. PVH now projects adjusted earnings of $1.08 to $1.10 per share, up from its earlier view of $1.03 to $1.05 per share.
Shares of Delhaize Group (NYSE: DEG) fell about 9.7% after the company announced its plans to lower 5,000 jobs after downbeat Q4 sales. Delhaize will also close 126 underperforming stores in the US.
Shares of Shaw Communications Inc (NYSE: SJR) dropped about 0.8% after the company reported a rise in its fiscal first-quarter earnings. Shaw Communications' revenue surged 19% to C$1.28 billion. It reported a 28% rise in earnings excluding non-operating items. The company's free cash flow dropped to C$119 million from C$154 million. Shaw Communications' net income from continuing operations climbed to C$202 million, or 43 Canadian cents per share, versus C$17 million, or 3 Canadian cents per share, in the year-ago period. Excluding items, the company's earnings came in at C$210 million. Analysts were expecting a profit of 47 Canadian cents per share.
