U.S. Patent Office Hands EasyLink Services International Corporation a Win Over j2 Global Communications by Confirming the Patentability of All Claims of Its U.S. Patent No. 5,872,640

EasyLink Services International Corporation ESIC announced today that the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has confirmed the patentability of all claims in EasyLink's U.S. Patent No. 5,872,640 ("the '640 patent"). In September 2011, the PTO also confirmed the patentability of EasyLink's U.S. Patent No. 7,804,823 ("the '823 Patent") in a separate reexamination proceeding. These two patents have been asserted in a patent infringement lawsuit against j2 Global Communications, Inc. JCOM, which was filed by EasyLink's subsidiary, Xpedite Systems, LLC.
