China's December exports surged 13.4% y/y, according to the General Administration of Customs, versus a 12.5% median forecast in a Dow Jones Newswires survey. However, exports had climbed 13.8% in November. December imports gained 11.8%, versus a forecast of 18% and down from November's 22.1% rise.
China's trade surplus came in at $16.52 billion in December, versus estimates of $7.8 billion, and versus November's surplus of $14.5 billion.
