Hewlett-Packard Admits Apple Will Lead in 2012

This is what happens when you spend 10 years manufacturing crap. Meg Whitman, the wannabe-politician-turned-HP-CEO, has reportedly told a French newspaper that she believes it is possible Apple AAPL could become the world's number-one PC manufacturer. That's according to TechCrunch, which has provided a translation of the article from Le Figaro. However, anyone who looks over the translated story from Google will see a few errors. Most notably, Whitman supposedly said, “Yes. I think it's possible if you integrate tablets,” when asked if Apple could take over. However, in the Google GOOG translation I looked at, Whitman said, “Yes. I think it's possible if you integrate the shelves.” Granted, Google is an auto-translator, not a human. Errors are bound to be more prevalent in auto translations. Still, you might want to keep that in mind when examining Whitman's interview. Additionally, Whitman indicated that, once the products she influenced hit the market in 2013, Hewlett-Packard HPQ will be able to take back its place at the top. Follow me @LouisBedigian
