Pre-open movers
US stock futures are slightly lower this morning, as investors are awaiting earnings reports from major companies. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average dipped 13 points to 11,553.00 and S&P 500 index futures fell 1.10 points to 1,218.10. Nasdaq 100 futures dropped 2.75 points to 2,364.50.
A Peek Into Global Markets
European markets were mostly lower today. The STOXX Europe 600 Index fell 0.03%, London's FTSE 100 Index moved up 0.26%, French CAC 40 index fell 0.06% and German DAX 30 index dropped 0.49%.
Asian markets ended mostly higher, with Japan's Nikkei Stock Average gaining 1.50%, Australia's S&P/ASX 200 moving up 1.61% and China's Shanghai Composite rising 0.37%. Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index surged 2.01% and India's Sensex dropped 0.29%.
Broker Recommendation
Analysts at Jefferies & Company upgraded Joy Global Inc JOYG from “hold” to “buy.” The target price for Joy Global has been raised from $95 to $100.
Joy Global shares gained 2.84% to close at $78.82 on Friday.
