Turkish Prime Minister Erdogan: Turkey is 'Totally Suspending' All Trade, Military and Defense Industry Ties with Israel

Turkey is "totally suspending" all trade, military and defense industry ties over Israel's refusal to apologise over Gaza flotilla attack, Turkish prime minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, said in Ankara on Tuesday. "This process will be followed by different measures," said Erdogan, who referred to Israel as "a spoiled child". Erdogan said Israeli diplomats who were ordered out of Turkey must leave the country by Wednesday. "Turkey has a lot to lose from making this kind of extreme decision," Amos Gilad, the head of the Israeli defense ministry's diplomatic-security bureau, told Israel's Army Radio. Turkey has not frozen military ties with Israel, Gilad said, saying that the Israeli military attache in Turkey is still serving as usual. Last week, a United Nations inquiry into the Israeli attack on the flotilla said Israel's action were "excessive", but also placed some of the blame on Turkey.
