The U.S. International Trade Commission
essentially shot down a case by Eastman Kodak Co. (NYSE:
EK), saying Apple (NASDAQ:
AAPL) and Research in Motion (NASDAQ:
RIMM) did not infringe on patents from Eastman Kodak. Maybe they should have called Bill Cosby. He would've known what to do.
Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:
AAPL), along with Microsoft Corp. (NASDAQ:
MSFT) and Research in Motion Ltd. (NASDAQ:
RIMM) outbid Google Inc. (NASDAQ:
GOOG) for a
patent portfolio from Nortel Networks Corp. The conglomerate paid $4.5 billion for the patents. Apple's portion of the patents will be called the iWinuLose.
Carl Icahn announced he has a
9.5% stake in Oshkosh Corporation (NYSE:
OSK), and the stock soared today. B'gosh, that's a lot of Oshkosh.
