Thoma Bravo Completes Acquisition of LANDesk

Thoma Bravo, a leading private equity investment firm, has completed the acquisition of LANDesk Software (LANDesk) from Emerson [NYSE:EMR]. LANDesk is a global leader in systems lifecycle management, endpoint security and IT service management. Financial details were not disclosed. Steve Daly, formerly the executive vice president and general manager of LANDesk, has been named the CEO of LANDesk and will lead the independent company along with the existing management team. “Now that LANDesk is an independent company, we can be more focused on strengthening our core business,” said Steve Daly. “LANDesk customers, partners and employees can expect even more innovation throughout our key solutions – systems lifecycle management, endpoint security and IT service management.” “Thoma Bravo looks forward to working with LANDesk's management team to implement a strategic plan to accelerate revenue growth,” said Seth Boro, a principal at Thoma Bravo. “Through continuous operational improvements and strategic acquisitions LANDesk will reinforce its position as a market leader in IT systems management.” “Thoma Bravo has a great deal of experience in the security software and systems markets, and we intend to apply our proven buy and build model to further LANDesk's position as a market leader,” said Robert Sayle, a vice president at Thoma Bravo. Headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah, LANDesk revenue has grown at a compound annual growth rate of 20 percent since 2002. LANDesk currently employs approximately 750 people around the world and has thousands of customers worldwide actively using its solutions.
