Build America Bonds To Be Extended

The Build America Bonds are likely to be extended by Congress, reports the Wall Street Journal. These bonds are set to expire December 31, and are likely to be extended for another year. Senate Republicans have signaled they will not try to strip out Democrat proposals to extend the program. Roughly one third of all municipal bond issues are Build America Bonds. The federal government pays roughly one-third of the interest on these bonds. These bonds are taxable, unlike other muni bonds.
