Ford CEO Mark Fields On The Success Of The F-150

Ford Motor Company (NYSE: F) has been working to regain the ground it lost to other car manufacturers in the years following the financial crisis. Its new F-150 on Monday was crowned as the Truck of the Year at the Detroit's North American International Auto Show.

Ford CEO Mark Fields was on CNBC to discuss the success of the new F-150 and the future for autonomous cars.

"We are launching the vehicle now," Fields said. "It's shipping to dealerships -- it's actually the fastest-turning vehicle on our lots right now…less than five days. So, customers are coming in, they have been waiting for it, they know this is the toughest, smartest, most capable F-series we've ever produced and they love the design of it and it's going right out the door."
