Jay Leno, former NBC "Tonight Show" host, will be zooming over to sister network CNBC as host of "Jay Leno's Garage." Known for his vast collection of expensive vehicles, Leno takes the wheel of this opportunity after a test drive in August.

August's one-hour special, "Jay Leno's Garage: The Ultimate Car Week," displayed Leno's innate knack for hosting and his comfort with the car-show genre.

The upcoming show, derived from Leno's Emmy award-winning web series by the same name, premieres sometime in 2015.

"The show will be about anything that rolls, explodes and makes noise. We hope to highlight the passion and the stories behind the men and women who made the automobile the greatest invention of the 20th century,” said Leno in a press statement in mid-October.

The new show will focus on the automobile market: restoration as an investment, automotive history and the stories surrounding all things car.

In speaking of his own investment in vehicles, Leno said, “I think it's safe to say, whatever I paid for has doubled or tripled in value, certainly. I mean, automobiles seem to be a pretty good investment. I don't know if it's quite as good as artwork, but it's right up there."

Leno would certainly know, claiming that his 101,000 square foot garage has "about 130 cars and 90 something motorcycles."

Regardless of the new show's success, two things are certain: Leno is back and he has a lot to say about his passion.
